Review: (#1) It’s a bit distracting to have the scoreboard in the background briefly superimpose itself on Ben Affleck’s head, but overall, it doesn’t subtly tell the audience what the film is about.
(#2) Place and setting information doesn’t makeup for uninteresting visual design.

Review: Your prototypical alcoholic redemption story featuring a white coach and a predominantly black basketball team. There are some winning moments here, but part of it does seem a bit white savior-ish and that’s problematic.
Oscar Prospects:
Ben Affleck is sure to be in the Oscar conversation with this performance, though the March release won’t keep him in voters’ minds very long.
