Looking at the Weekend: Mar. 22-24, 2019

There’s nothing else new coming out this weekend, so Get Out will definitely take the lead. The question is whether it can perform strongly enough to overcome the third weekend of Captain Marvel, which had a solid 55.7% drop from last weekend. With Jordan Peele’s last film taking in $33 million opening, it will be a fight between the two for the number one position and I suspect Us might have the upper hand as Peele’s popularity has only grown in the intervening two years.

	Wesley Lovell (WL): With early word being terrific, Jordan Peele is becoming a new must-see director Peter J. Patrick (PP): Looks interesting, if several notches down from Get Out. Thomas LaTourette (TL): I do not know if Jordan Peele will be able to recreate the success of “Get Out,” but early reviews are good. I hope it will not be just another slasher movie.

Thomas LaTourette (TL): The critics reviews are all over the place and the trailer does not drum up enough interest, so I am dubious about this film.
