Review: (#1) Ugly colors mar this poster setting it up as one that cannot possibly interest passers-by. (#2) A better color scheme, but there’s little to the design that’s interesting. (#3) Reminds me of the classic song “Against the Wind,” but that’s where the similarities end. It has a small amount of symbolic meaning, but isn’t terribly interesting. (#4) I’m not certain what the purpose of the sideways writing is, but there’s a vibrancy to this design that makes it stand out a bit more than the prior efforts.
Trailer Rating: B

Review: There’s a lot of subtlety in this trailer, never quite explaining why this “fantastic woman” would be denied access to a funeral, but the trailer does a fine job setting up a tragic romance that reminds us of the marginalized gay-themed dramas of the late-1980s and early 1990s.
Oscar Prospects:
On the shortlist for Best Foreign Language Film of 2017. The chances of a nomination are high. The chance of a win are decent.
