Review: (#1) A visually dull, but bright design that highlights the film’s stars without feeling like it’s a movie that people would want to see. (#2) A slight bit more appealing than the first design, with the imagery being a bit smaller and bolder, but it’s impossible to forgive the hackneyed, sloppy split-panel design.

(#3) Looking like a cheap evocation of style, the bright yellow dominates the design leaving the cheesy drawn elements to play heavily on its surface disappointingly. (#4) Somewhat unique color selections don’t makeup for the painfully dull image selections. (#5) Using still images from films can be done with great creativity. This is the polar opposite of such things. (#6-#7) This matched-pair of character posters feature tons of fascinating detail that establish setting and connectivity. (#8-#9) Any creativity evinced in the prior pair of character posters is jettisoned in this set, which employs ugly artwork and incompetent placement.

Trailer Rating: B

Review: Were it not for stars Donald Sutherland and Helen Mirren, this film would look like a dreadful attempt to cash in on the Alzheimer’s crisis for cheap tears. Mirren and Sutherland bring enough gravitas to the trailer to keep it from sinking entirely into schmaltz.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
