A24 has submitted for our consideration two films, Good Time and The Killing of a Sacred Deer.
Good Time
Oscar Chances: Unlikely: While the film got good reviews, it has never appeared to be much of an Oscar contender. Some might have suggested Robert Pattinson for consideration, but I doubt even that’s a possibility at this juncture.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer
Oscar Chances: Possible: Yorgos Lanthimos has twice been recognized by the Academy. Once for Best Foreign Language Film (he was the director and would have accepted the award, though it would have been given to his home country of Greece) in 2009 for Dogtooth and then again last year for his first actual nomination for The Lobster for Best Original Screenplay. Now that he’s broken through with a rather bizarre screenplay, his chances of further nominations increase. However, this film has a lot of competition in Original Screenplay and won’t compete many other places, so I suspect the film will be ignored this year.
