Without digging too deep into these shortlists. I didn’t see too many glaring omissions. John Lewis: Good Trouble is about the only documentary I noted missing and My Little Sister also didn’t make it to the foreign language film shortlist. Of course, I may realize what’s missing at a later date, so stay tuned.

Fifteen films will advance in the Documentary Feature category for the 93rd Academy Awards. Two hundred thirty-eight films were eligible in the category. Members of the Documentary Branch vote to determine the shortlist and the nominees.

Following the screenings, members will vote to nominate five films for final Oscar consideration.
