Oscar Chances: Decent: Early in the year, it seemed like Judi Dench was likely to earn another Oscar nomination as a monarch in this film. The problem was that people actually saw it and it earned some terrible reviews and has since faded quite a bit. Dench is still a possibility, but the Best Actress category is filled with potential nominees. The film could still earn Production Design and Costume Design citations and the dearth of nominees in Adapted Screenplay could enable it to enter that competition in spite of the poor reviews.
