I dare you not to be intrigued by the want ad.

Safety Not Guaranteed

Plot Summary: “*WANTED* Someone to go back in time with me. This is not a joke. You’ll get paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons. Safety not guaranteed. I have only done this once before.” That simple ad prompts a young journalist to take two interns into the field to find out the truth behind the ad.
Release Date: June 8, 2012

Rating: B
Commentary: The want ad itself is pretty damned interesting and putting it front and center on the poster is an excellent move. People will be intrigued by it and want to find out just a bit more.
Rating: B+
Commentary: The idea is so interesting and original that I can’t help but think it’s the kind of film I would absolutely love. The trailer doesn’t hold back on the comic elements while shifting the story’s focus fairly well so that the audience gets an idea of what they should expect but still wants more.

Oscar Chances: It’s a longshot, but a Best Original Screenplay nomination wouldn’t be surprising if the film is championed by critics.
