Trailer

Rating: C / B / B+ (3)
Commentary: There were a lot of posters available for this film and the best are the trio of character designs. The first poster uses an image that may feature prominently in the film, but which won’t mean much to audiences. The second poster picks up on Ryan Gosling’s image and tries to use that to sell it. Yet, the third set are a bit more stylized and look a lot more interesting than the second design. While I don’t think any of them will draw audiences to the theaters. They are at least visually appealing for the most part.
Rating: A
Commentary: A tense, exciting trailer from the director of the Pusher trilogy and Drive. With a pulsing score highlighting the stylized vision of director Nicolas Winding Refn, this trailer will immediately sell the film to any fans of the director and might intrigue many others.

Oscar Chances: Nicolas Winding Refn hasn’t had luck with the Oscars and I don’t think this film will change that.
