Results are in for Week #19 of Film Fun Friday.

Game: Identify the Poster

The correct answers were: A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (Foreign Poster) and The Dawn Maker (Negative Poster). Peter, by noticing a small piece of data I had not spotted, picks out the foreign poster. No one gets the negative, probably due to its relative obscurity and the irritating ability of the random number generator to pick old years that have very little to choose from.

Game: Quotes

The quote “Hate him! How could I hate him? Mothers don’t hate their sons! Is that what he told you? You see how you believe everything he tells you? And you can’t do the same for me, you can’t! GOD I DON’T KNOW WHAT ANYONE WANTS FROM ME ANYMORE!” came from Ordinary People. Sam was the only person to take a shot and get this one correct.

Game: Oscar Trivia

Thelma Ritter is the correct answer here. She received six nominations, but no Oscars. The six actresses in a tie for second-most were Ethel Barrymore, Lee Grant, Agnes Moorehead, Maureen Stapleton, Geraldine Page and Maggie Smith. All but Moorehead have Oscars in their collections with Page being the only one to win in a Leading Role. Peter got this one right on with full bonus points naming the other six ladies. Sam’s choice of Streep is close. Although, she has a record 16 nominations, only 3 of them come in the Supporting Actress category, and one of those represents one of her only two Oscars.

Game: Six Degrees of Oscar Separation

Peter and Tripp both got a one-step connection between Bride of Frankenstein Elsa Lanchester and her counterpart in Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein Madeline Kahn. While I don’t normally break ties, in this case I will because Tripp managed to make the single connection through two of my favorite murder mystery comedies, Clue and Murder by Death.

And that’s our results for this week. Come back Friday for more fun and games.
