The NAACP Image Award, an annual recognition of films, television, music, and more that celebrate the black experience in America, have made some stellar selections with Crazy Rich Asians the only title that has no black actors in it, but all of which celebrate diversity in one way or another. It should be quite telling to anyone paying attention that the sole nomination Green Book received was for Mahershala Ali and not the film itself. It’s also disappointing that the only place If Beale Street Could Talk was given its due was here.
