It’s hard for me to assess the OFCS picks being a member, but I’ll try my best to be even. The Master garnered the most nominations this year, but that was largely due to its large swath of nods in the acting categories. Argo and Zero Dark Thirty also did well with only one nomination in the acting categories each. Holy Motors and Moonrise Kingdom took Best Picture spots from multi-nominee Lincoln and possibly also Beasts of the Southern Wild. This year’s eclectic bunch isn’t likely to carry over very precisely considering the Academy’s affinity against certain films and directors.
