As the precursor awards continue unabated until Oscar night, I’m going to be providing a weekly update highlighting the films that have won and lost momentum through the precursor awards (and in some cases other outside influences).

With only the National Society of Film Critics revealing their selections by the time I had to get this written, there’s really no way to classify winners and losers for this week. Suffice it to say Spotlight was a big winner, but so too were 45 Years, Carol, Mad Max: Fury Road and Creed. We’ll be back next week with more winners and losers, but before you go, take a look at what’s coming up this coming week.
