When I originally started this site back in 1996, I was known as The Oscar Guy and that was also my site name. It meant a broad array of people visited the site in hopes of finding out the latest predictions for the Oscars. When the Academy sent a cease and desist letter saying I could use it as my moniker, but not my site name, I established Cinema Sight not realizing that it would ultimately lead to a significant decrease in traffic.

In an effort to revive that popularity, I’m introducing a new awards subsite that will be a part of the Cinema Sight family alongside the UAADB (Unofficial Academy Awards Discussion Board). It will house predictions, previews, precursor information, and more. I’m hoping for it to be a bit more interactive and more visual, but before I can work on any of that, I need a new name.

I’ve come up with a list of 9 potential names and while I have my own favorite, I’d like to know your thoughts on it. While I cannot guarantee I’ll pick the winner of the poll, it should help me see which titles have potential and which are forgettable. If you have another great name (that isn’t already taken), please feel free to post a comment with it. Or, if you want to defend your choice, leave a comment.

My hope is that we can get it ready before our 96th Oscars coverage begins in May, but I can’t make any promises. A lot will go into designing the site and I may have to go through several iterations before I find something I genuinely like. Speaking of which, is there some feature you’ve long wanted to see?
