The box office continues to be unpredictable with audiences still not turning out in droves like it should be. Strong debuts are followed by week second frames, which might just give Snake Eyes a chance to top the box office without much competition. Old is another M. Night Shyamalan attempt to revitalize his career, but I’m not sure it can overtake Snake Eyes.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): I don’t care if some people have “forgiven” M. Night Shyamalan for all the crap he made over the years, but I don’t trust anything he puts out, so this is probably a no-go for me, even if the concept is intriguing.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Clever sci-fi mystery could be M. Night Shyamalan’s biggest hit since The Sixth Sense.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The writer/director has not had an unparalleled success since the Sixth Sense, but he knows how to create tension through most of his films, even if they fall a little flat at the end.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): As much as I like Henry Golding, the GI Joe films are atrocioius.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Looks to be at the lower end of superhero movies.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): There look to be lots of over the top fight scenes, but not a coherent plot.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): An end of the world seriocomedy just doesn’t seem that interesting.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Dreadful execution of a dreadful idea.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The reviews are decent, but it looks like it will be a slight comedy about the end of the world.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): A good concept has produced some bad early word of mouth.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Heartfelt drama with at least two outstanding performances could be a sleeper hit.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): I am all for gay-themed movies, though I worry that this one will be a bit preachy.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): It’s such a cheesy concept, it could be fun.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Simple-minded film about simple-minded people.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The reviews are decent, but the trailer looks more dumb than funny. I am not sure what to expect from it.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): A surprisingly interesting concept for a throwaway Bruce Willis film.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Looks like another phoned-in performance from Bruce Willis and still no indication from Megan Fox that she can act.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): A decent trailer attracts some attention, but I worry that the film will not be that good.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): This sci-fi feature has a terrible trailer that doesn’t make it look that interesting.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Life on Mars looks awfully depressing.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The film may be set on Mars, but looks a lot like a lot of old westerns, which may not be a good thing.
