The weekend sees one new wide release and it will handily top the box office. Glass is the third film in an unexpected trilogy from M. Night Shyamalan who, from all accounts, has gotten his groove back. Of course, digging back into his second-most popular feature was probably good idea for him.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): I never saw Unstoppable or Split, though perhaps I need to visit them for the first time.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): I gave up on Shyamalan a long time ago and don’t see anything here to make me change my mind.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The directorโ€™s work has varied a lot, though I wonder if he might redeem himself somewhat with the end of what is now a trilogy.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): Apart from an appealing cast, this looks fairly rote.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Looks like an overheated political melodrama, but it might have a surprise or two up its sleeve.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): it doesnโ€™t look like anything new, but a taut thriller is always acceptable.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): There’s not a lot to sell this film as worth checking out.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): I can’t help thinking if this were really good it wouldn’t have taken 3 years at various film festivals to finally open commercially.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): I am a fan of the lead and it looks like it could be a fun film. Probably nothing new, but still enjoyable.
