Will it be action or horror? This week’s two potential champions embrace two genres that have historically done well at the box office, but I give the edge to Jack Ryan, which reboots a popular characterr from a book and film franchise.
Individual Commentaries
Wesley Lovell: There aren’t any films releasing wide that I’m interested, but if you have a teenager, you might want to consider G.B.F., even though it’s been rated R, it’s really PG-13.
Peter J. Patrick: Will Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit prove to be the exception to the rule that January is a dumping ground for the previous year’s failed wannabes.
Tripp Burton: It’s a good thing there are lots of great year-end releases to catch up with, because nothing new this time of year is piquing my interest at all.
