Tyler Perry’s the only name on this list that has any kind of following, so a solid opening is guaranteed. The others are all questionable, though Act of Valor could do well.

Consensus

Below is a list of what we have come to a general consensus on. The number in parens represents the percentage of our contributors who agree with the statement.

Act of Valor: Will it be the hit its producers want it to be or another flash-in-the-pan film forgotten shortly after release?
Gone: Whether horror or thriller, it doesn’t seem to be appealing to many.
Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds: You can’t deny that Perry knows how to market a film to his target demographic.
Wanderlust: It might be funny. It might be dreadful. A lot depends on how well Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston work together.
Tomorrow When the War Began: The film has crept into consciousness, which means it could be a hit or a failure and no one will know for sure until it is or is not.

Is this the latest recruitment gimmick from the U.S. Military? Count me out.

No name cast in Grade B actioner does nothing for me.

The recent influx of interest in Navy SEALS could boost this film’s box office, but it still won’t stand a chance with awards.

Amanda Seyfried has yet to make a movie I’ve been interested in seeing (Mamma Mia except for other reasons). This looks like another in a long line of horror stinkers.

Looks awful.

There have only been a couple of trailers for Perry’s films that have looked interesting. This isn’t one of them.

Thoughts

Looks lame.

Tyler Perry’s films tend to do well with its intended audience, but that audience isn’t the Academy.

Paul Rudd is one of my favorite comic actors, though he hasn’t done anything I’ve wanted to see in some time. This looks like it might at least be fun.

Thoughts

Does anyone remember when Jennifer Aniston made a decent movie?

An early-in-the-year laughfest that will be forgotten in a week.

I like the concept, though it’s a bit too similar to Red Dawn in that department. I’d like to see what’s done with this.

Appears to be the first in a series of Australian films based on a popular series of novels.

Thoughts

This looks real hit and miss, but if it hits the marks then it could be worth checking out.
