There’s not much competition on Labor Day weekend for the box office crown. Don’t Let Go is the only new wide release (Saaho is also supposedly releasing wide, but it’s not the kind of film that tops the box office), so it will be the only one with a chance of taking down Angel Has Fallen and it might, but who really knows with Labor Day.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): The premise isn’t new, but it looks like it could be interesting.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Tired concept looks well played but was a critical flop at Sundance, so not expecting much.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The premise sounds iffy, but the trailer did spark interest about life happening in two different times, so it might be worth seeing.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): It looks like a Woody Allen knock-off.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Might be decent, but the trailer doesn’t sell what looks to be a forced comedy.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): Family comedies have long been a mainstay, but this shows promise of perhaps being better than most.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): A terrible premise with what appears to be terrible performances.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Inspirational drama looks like something that we’ve seen many times before.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): This just looks so cliched, that I have no interest in it.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): Apart from seeing Liam Hemsworth stretch his acting muscles, this doesn’t look like much fun.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): I tend to like films about amnesia but this one looks pretty hopeless.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): I like Liam Hemsworth, but a film that feels too violent and over-reliant on the over-used amnesia trope does not look to be a winner.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): The film looks as if it might be fun, even if inconsequential.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): The headache inducing trailer is not a good sell for this overbearing Mexican comedy.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): This actually looks like a cute comedy of the sexes with each trying to outsmart the other.
