Not much is new this weekend, so it shouldn’t be too difficult for Liam Neeson to once again take the top of the box office chart. His films are usually strong out of the gate even if they aren’t always strong in the long haul.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): Not every Liam Neeson thriller is worthy of my time. Heck, none of them are.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): A killer with Alzheimer’s is an intriguing premise but its execution looks to be in routine gangster mode.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): It looks a little too violent for my tastes, but the story of a hit man who is losing his memory may make a potent film.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): This looks like a fairly formulaic romance and that’s just not that appealing.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Dullish looking French triangle drama.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The trailer does not really show romance between any of the characters so it is hard to understand why we want to see the film.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): The concept has potential, but the trailer is so dreadfully underwhelming.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Gay romance among Russian soldiers in the 1970s based on a true story at least offers something different.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): It might be an okay gay romance, but the blurb about it talks about a love triangle which it does not show at all. I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt, but feel unsure about this film.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): Haven’t we seen all of this before?
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Another quick pay job for Bruce Willis.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): Macho men fighting each other for revenge and sport, it does not look appealing.

Individual Commentary:

Wesley Lovell (WL): It looks like a quirky horror comedy, but never reaches a point where it becomes must-see.
Peter J. Patrick (PP): Looks like it might actually be a good horror movie for a change.
Thomas LaTourette (TL): The trailer does not show enough to either get the horror or the social commentary through and it just does not look that appealing.
