Synopsis:

From IMDb: “From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”

Review: (#1) For a series popular and familiar as this one, this is such an incredibly cheap looking design.

(#2) A skull made of skulls. How original. (#3) This is a solid attempt to get fans of the original films in the theater, which is the best this film seems to have to offer in terms of advertisement. (#4) The Dull IMAX Poster Series continues with this unexciting offering. (#5) More skulls made of skulls. When will the madness end?

Trailer Rating: C+ / C / C

Review: (#1) The point of the film doesn’t seem evident in this trailer and while fans of everything Predator might be sold instantly, other audiences aren’t going to be enticed by something like this.

(#2) For fans of the film series and related properties, I can imagine this will be exciting; however, for the rest of us, there’s nothing particularly thrilling on display.

(#3) If you are only trying to appeal to fans of the franchise, something like this works well. If you’re wanting cross-over appeal, this trailer does a poor job making that case. It also starts making a case for how sexist it probably is.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
