Poster Rating: C- / C / B-

Review: (#1) Perhaps interesting as a teaser, since the audience gets a cheeky idea of the premise, but not very exciting visually.

(#2) It’s a clever way to try and sell the film to an audience, but its lack of general specificity doesn’t make it that appealing a design overall.

(#3) This is so heavy-handed that it’s almost interesting as a result. The deer unconcerned with the human prey is interesting, but the trees as weapons isn’t.

Trailer Rating: B- / C+

Review: (#1) The trailer tries for suspense at first, but it only makes the film seem confusing. Once it gets into the concept, things start ironing out to the point where it looks like it could be fun.

(#2) There was a certain intrigue to the first trailer, but with the film’s attempts to play off its forced-shelving last year might bolster its chances. That said, Shame on the studio for doing this since the reason it was shelved in the first place was because of a mass shooting, which makes this particular trailer feel rather opportunistic.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
