Review: (#1) A somewhat creepy scene sets up a haunted house story effectively enough though it doesn’t set up the narrative that well. (#2) Setting out the rules doesn’t seem that interesting in this foreign poster design. It’s not very frightening or disconcerting. (#3) Perhaps a fitting target to Asian markets, this design acknowledges the porcelain visage of the boy, but isn’t atmospheric or haunting enough to be of much use.

Trailer Rating: C+

Review: Establishing an atmosphere is key with a film like this and while it looks like a convincing haunted house yarn, the scares are telegraphed to the audience, which might not create the level of interest desired.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
