Review: (#1) Whomever designed this did a terrible job forcing everyone and everything into the frame, making it look like Dave Bautista is sitting in an unnatural position while Kumail Nanjiani looks a lot smaller than he is by the torso positioning in the car.

(#2) It’s action-heavy, but in a rudimentary and poorly colored way. It is further structurally unsound and unappealing. (#3) A cheap construction with a bland color palette and terrible, blocky lettering. It’s not a design worth much.

(#4) While it isn’t the best idea to have your main actors appearing twice on a poster design, this one works surprisingly well with a fine balance, a dull background space broken up by a distinctive border that isn’t overbearing, and a lot of ideas and information presented to keep the viewer invested longer than is typical.

Trailer Rating: B / B- / C+

Review: (#1) Funny moments do not a film make and while this trailer presents quite a few of them, they never coalesce into anything more than a seemingly cheap gimmick weakly executed.

(#2) This red band trailer adds some questionable content, but none of it is any funnier than what we’ve already seen. Matter of fact, it reuses enough to make the film feel less funny the second time around.

(#3) The amount of humor displayed in this trailer is significantly reduced from prior versions and the plot is given full recognition in the early part of the trailer. Yet, the thrust of the film seems diminished and significantly less appealing than prior trailers would suggest.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
