Poster Rating: B

Review: This poster shows the film’s two protagonists walking up the street and by being in one another’s company, things in the gray and colorless world become bright and cheerful.
It’s a clever concept but feels a bit too overwhelming.

Trailer Rating: C

Review: A strung out musician and a dentist in a buddy pic. Stranger ideas have come across on the big screen and this one looks mildly promising. I suspect this is just another attempt by Adam Sandler to try and earn Hollywood’s respect like Jim Carrey has been doing. I don’t think this will work as there are too many scenes that look completely groan-worthy.

Oscar Prospects:

Sandler may have been hoping for an Oscar nom for this work and Don Cheadle could always use another one but the overbaked trailer is too oppressive and it’s unlikely that Sandler will ever get close to Oscar if he couldn’t with the more Academy-friendly Punch-Drunk Love.
