From IMDb: “Ratchet and Clank tells the story of two unlikely heroes as they struggle to stop a vile alien named Chairman Drek from destroying every planet in the Solana Galaxy. When the two stumble upon a dangerous weapon capable of destroying entire planets, they must join forces with a team of colorful heroes called The Galactic Rangers in order to save the galaxy. Along the way they’ll learn about heroism, friendship, and the importance of discovering one’s own identity.”

Poster Rating: C+ / C / C-

Review: (#1) It has plenty of detail, but none of that detail is particularly fresh or compelling.

(#2) The sterile, calculated precision with which the film and its posters are designed leaves the viewer unimpressed or even cold. It’s a design that’s busy, but hollow. (#3) This close-up isn’t appealing, but shows just how carefully sculpted and clinical the film looks. It’s as if the creators were looking to cash in on an animated film craze rather than to try and distinguish itself from its competitors.

Trailer Rating: C

Review: Like a preview for a film that has gone direct-to-video, this children’s animated feature has cheesy one-liners, lame action violence and no serious claim to being something more than passable entertainment.

Oscar Prospects:

It could be a nominee for Best Picture, but I seriously doubt it.
