Review: This poster is so extremely cluttered that it takes several seconds to realize what it’s even about and that its subject is a breakdancing competition is even farther from representative as it looks like little more then step dancing.

Review: The glut of step-dancing feature films has apparently given rise to documentarians wanting to examine the real world of the sport, except this docu seems to focus on its ancestor breakdancing. We had Air Guitar Nation last year and this looks even more idiotic than that film did.

The full trailer of the film makes the idea seem less ludicrous, however, by exposing the plot of the film, following several contestants in a breakdancing competition, they have unwittingly found themselves conforming to a norm for such documentaries. It’s unlikely this film will produce anything but the customary “sense of triumph” that has accompanied these kinds of films.

Oscar Prospects:

Air Guitar Nation, the similarly-themed docu didn’t make the short list for 2007, so it’s unlikely this film will work for 2008.
