Review: (#1) A cheap throwaway tagline in awful blocky letters with a central image that might entice fans of the original, but is a design that isn’t otherwise very appealing.

(#2) This design, which will be the inspiration of two others has a lot of animals everywhere, but they all seem too strategically placed to be organic. (#3) The bland yellow background and the terrible blue font of the tagline simply does not work, making the foreground image uglier. (#4-#5) These non-English designs aren’t terribly different from design 2, which makes them perfectly serviceable. (#6) The white background is distracting, but the array of images being cut as they are is the most compelling element of the design, looking quite a bit like the British flag, likely intentional. It’s an original attempt that is let down by the rest of the design. (#7) More of the same. A retread of design 6, trying to turn the pandemic delayed release into a joke that just isn’t very funny.

(#8) The yellow backdrop and blue lettering are clunky and it has little appeal beyond the original attempts at such. (#9-#13) These character posters have enough differences to not blend together, but ultimately feel copied from the same bland test.

Trailer Rating: C / B- / B-

Review: (#1) If you were wanting a sequel to the poorly reviewed modestly popular Peter Rabbit, then everything you’ve come to expect is here, which isn’t particularly interesting to anyone else.

(#2) Funnier than the prior trailer by a mile, the film is painted in an entirely different light with a trailer completely at odds with the prior. This one looks much more like a fun, engaging adventure than the previous preview.

(#3) No more or less funny than prior trailers, this one does less to explain the film’s premise, which might not give audiences the rooting interest that will bring any but the most ardent fans of the original to the theater.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
