Review: (#1) Too dark. There’s enough here to make out the figure, but not enough for people to care. (#2) The worrisome look seems fitting, but the overall design is sloppy and unfocused both literally and figuratively. (#3) The prior design, but in color and the central image is a bit bigger. These changes don’t help. (#4) Nice colors, but a lot of vacant space and a lot of darkness. Perhaps that fits the figure, but not the box office.

Trailer Rating: C+

Review: The trailer doesn’t quite know where it wants to go, hyper-kinetically shifting through events without focusing the audience onto a story that is worth watching.

Oscar Prospects:

Willem Dafoe has been on the verge of an Oscar for years and this could be it. That it’s taken 5 years to get to the U.S. suggests it probably won’t be.
