Poster Rating: B-

Review: The most interesting part about the poster isn’t the lizard nor is it the bullet that fits with the title, but the colors. On a white background, the lettering is all yellow and green. The symbolism is simple yet obscure. Those who are familiar with the Brazilian flag will recognize the choice of colors.

Trailer Rating: C

Review: While not an American political documentary, this docu about kidnapping in Sao Paulo, Brazil has its own political connotations. The look of the film is too heavily reminiscent of the 1970s, even though I’m sure a lot of the footage is from that period. However, that fact would devalue some of the themes, but others will remain fresh.

Oscar Prospects:

Whether or not the Academy will support this documentary remains to be seen. There are still plenty of others in the competition that will have a chance before this will.
