Review: (#1) The creators certainly know how to milk a concept. If you’ve seen the trailer, you completely understand why this is so adorable. If you haven’t seen the trailer, this might encourage you to do so.

(#2-#8) This poster series is fun. I’ve given them all the same rating, but the Martian pun is the best of them all. (#9) It’s a little bit zany and only a small bit actiony. It works a bit better than the first design in terms of selling the film, but is quite a bit less cute.

Trailer Rating: B+ / B

Review: (#1) How is it that Key & Peele managed to end their successful television program and embark on what could be a fascinating big screen career? This trailer should give you all the reasons why. Their seemingly simplistic, but richly nuanced humor and ability to deliver ludicrous concepts with a completely straight face sets these two apart from other comedians. This film looks to build on those successes and promises to be absolutely entertaining.

(#2) Seeing a slightly re-cut trailer doesn’t inspire much confidence as the film now looks quite dull in terms of comedy. There could be some intensely humorous elements, but it looks to be a far cry from their fantastic Key & Peele work.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
