Poster Rating: C+

Review: The golden-hue to the Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson is the poster’s only saving grace. Otherwise, it’s a standard romantic comedy image that will entice fans of the actors, but few others.

Trailer Rating: C

Review: The preview reminds me terribly of Into the Blue mixed with every other McConaughey romance ever to flit briefly across the screen. His presence is not a welcome one and if he weren’t so appealing to female audiences, I don’t think he’d be working right now because he’s certainly not a talented thespian and this trailer only proves that. What Hudson’s doing, I don’t know, but the more I think about it, the more it reminds me of her mom’s foray into ship-board antics in Overboard.

Oscar Prospects:

I can’t imagine the Academy falling in love with this early-year release. It’ll be out just before the Oscars which displays the production company’s lack of awards support.
