Review: Glittery, but not impressive. It’s definitely going to catch your attention, but that dull background, while it makes the main image somewhat pop, it ultimately doesn’t work.

Review: It’s been a long time since I got the feeling from a film with a queer coming of age story at the center that felt this joyous. The snippets of music and dancing we’re giving certainly look exciting, but it also feels like we’ve been down this particular road before.

Oscar Prospects:

It has a lot of pizzazz and could be a contender for Original Song if there is one in the film. There’s also the Costume Design and Makeup & Hairstyling categories. Ultimately, though, it will probably be a bit too outré to make much of a dent in the race.
