Review: (#1) With all of the cute animals doing the design’s heavy lifting, the distracted central figure, the title character, not only feels out of place, it brings down the tone and frivolity of the poster design.

(#2-#10) This series of character posters are flawed in their background usage. Even if each is unique, none of them are creative. The foreground images are also unique and are at least a little bit more interesting than your standard character poster. (#11) A simple and dull design, even if it’s bright. (#12) Not as chaotic as it could be, but that’s not a bad thing. The black background isn’t very appealing, but the foreground makes up for it with a very busy blend of artwork that sometimes looks good and sometimes looks cheap.

Trailer Rating: C+

Review: What exactly is the premise here. The trailer goes to great lengths to highlight a lot of snazzy effects, but the plot is thin and the result is hardly worth getting excited about, especially Robert Downey Jr.’s performance.

Oscar Prospects:

It might be a contender for Best Visual Effects, but the January release puts it too far out of the Oscar competition to be effectively remembered.
